Heat wave: Death toll reaches 128 in Telangana, 95 in Andhra Pradesh
The maximum temperature ranged between 43and 46 degree celcius

Hyderabad, May 23 (ANI): The death toll due to the prevailing heat wave has reportedly risen to 128 in Telangana and 95 in Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced Rs one lakh compensation to the victims.
"We are taking all precautions how to minimize deaths due to heat wave. We are announcing Rs 1 lakh as compensation for each victim," Naidu told media persons.
Meanwhile, many cities in Odisha recorded more than 45 degree Celsius day temperature resulting in over 23 deaths.
In Rajasthan, mercury soared to 46 .2 degree Celsius in Sriganganagar. The maximum temperature ranged between 43and 46 degree celcius across the state affecting normal life in the state.
In Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow recorded the highest temperature of the season as the mercury touched around 44 degrees Celsius. Allahabad remained the hottest city in the state with 47 degrees, five degrees above normal.
In the national capital Delhi also there was no respite from the scorching heat, with temperature rising to 44 degree Celsius
