Ousted in ten days: Scaramucci leaves White House abruptly

WASHINGTON, U.S. - Ten days after U.S. President Donald Trump made his most combative appointment till date, he has now reversed it. 

Trump’s appointment of Anthony Scaramucci as the White House Communications Director led to not just the resignation of the Press Secretary Sean Spicer, but also to the removal of Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince Priebus. 

On Monday however, days after Scaramucci unloaded a crude verbal tirade against other senior members of the president’s senior staff, the White House announced that Trump had removed him from his position. 

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said in a statement, “Anthony Scaramucci will be leaving his role as White House Communications Director. Mr. Scaramucci felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team. We wish him all the best.”

Scaramucci’s abrupt removal, ten days after Trump brought the wealthy New York financier on board has left the White House more chaotic than ever.

Ironically, just hours before the announcement about Scaramucci, Trump insisted in a Twitter message that there has been “No WH chaos!”

The decision to remove Scaramucci were also made public as Kelly, who replaced Priebus as the top adviser in the White House, began his first day in charge of the White House staff. 

Addressing aides gathered in early-morning staff meetings, he said that he intended to impose a new sense of order and operational discipline that had been absent under his predecessor.

According to sources within the White House, Scaramucci had boasted about reporting directly to the president, not the chief of staff - but the decision to remove him reportedly came at Kelly’s request.

However, the White House did not clarify if Scaramucci will remain at the White House in another position or will leave altogether. 

Earlier, the White House had stated that his official start date as a government employee was to be August 15.

He, however, appeared to begin performing his duties immediately.

While sources have stated that It was Kelly’s objection that eventually led to Scaramucci’s removal - some sources stated that Trump and his family had quickly soured on the wisecracking former hedge fund manager.

Both Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law,  Jared Kushner had pushed the president to hire Scaramucci, seeing him as a way to force out Priebus and his allies in the West Wing.

That, reports pointed out was a successful bet as Scaramucci was successful in Spicer’s ouster and that of Priebus, who Scaramucci called (along with another vulgar term), a “paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.”

Initially, Trump was reported to have been pleased by Scaramucci’s harsh remarks, but after speaking with his family and Kelly, the president began to see the brash actions of his subordinate as a political liability and potential embarrassment, according to two sources.
